- It is recorded in the second IAS book that Brown enslaved multiple unrecorded named individuals, on whom a value was placed of $1036.00 at the time of his death.
- As well as being an enslaver, Brown was an informant for Margaret Williams. An unrecorded named woman was doing work for him in April 1857 and gave birth to her child while she was hired by him.
