- Sarah Burnett's will states that all her property willed to her by her late husband "including land, negroes and personal estate" was to be sold by her executor.

- Joshua Burnett's will found in the IAS Book 2 states that his wife would inherit the plantation in Mason Cove along with "all my personal property of every description including my negroes." One half of his personal property would go directly to his wife Sarah while the other half would be divided between his daughters and his granddaughter.
- The inventory of Sarah Burnett's personal estate was dated two years after the appraisement of her husband, Joshua Burnett's estate.
- In IAS Book 3, in the settlement of estate of Sarah Burnett it is recorded that a sum was paid to the heirs of Sarah to equalize the enslaved people that were divided after Joshua's death.
