- Jacob Fowler's will stipulated that Henry Fowler had the right to purchase the unrecorded/unquantified enslaved people who were valued at $620.00. An unrecorded named woman and child were to be inherited by John Steel (valued at $600.00). Any remaining enslaved were to be evaluated and sold. There is one exception: an elderly enslaved woman named Mildred. Jacob Fowler's will stipulated that Mildred choose the child that she wanted to be inherited to due to her being "too old and worthless". This would indicate old age/inability to do work and she was to be supported via the Fowler estate.
- Jacob Fowler's will also stipulated that his executers would receive one sixth of the personal estate "including the plantation on which my son in law John Steel is not living."
- In the appraisement of Jacob Fowler's property, Ann, Prudence and child, Gilbert and child, Rachel, John, Rufus, Davy, George, Josephine, Julia, Grace, Billy Texas, Moses, and Sam were all listed.
