- Sarah Betts' will dictated her executor to "sell slave" Marrian and her children Julian, Maria, and Evaline be "equally divided".
- A valuation of $700.00 was placed on Marrian.
- It is possible that Marrian's name was spelled as Marion. She appears in the same entry as Evaline, Maria, and Julian and her name is spelled Marion.
- In an entry in the Settlement of Estates of Sarah Betts, it is written that by the will of Sarah Betts, the slaves Marion, Julia, Maria, and Evaline were directed to be sold and the proceeds to be divided between Blanch W. Snyder, Edward McClanahan, James McClanahan Jr., Elizabeth McClanahan, Mary S. Ward, Thomas A. McClanahan, and Elisha B. McClanahan.
- In the will of Sarah Betts, as found in IAS book 3, it is listed that each enslaved person willed alongside Maria had a value of $429.90 placed on them.
