Michael Miller's will stipulated that Almstead and his wife Nancy would be inherited by both George, Michael's son, and his sister Sallie Miller. The remaining enslaved people, Harriet, Columbus, Ellen, Jimma, Payton, Charles, and Archy are to be valued by the court and evenly divided between George and Sallie Miller. Once valued, the enslaved person would choose the master/mistress that they would like to be inherited to.

In the IAS Book 4, George H. Miller, along with his brother Jacob C. Miller, are listed as executers under the appraisement of Michael Miller. This appraisement included entries directly related to enslaved people, though these individuals are unnamed. One entry states, "Personal assets in hands of Executers Jany. 15, 1864" with a value of $28,619.66.
