- Col. William Watts was the son of Edward Watts and Elizabeth Breckinridge Watts.

- William Watts' will stipulated that his "servants" Edmund Rideout and Nannie be "comfortably maintained" via his estate.
- William Watts' will stipulated that his "other servants" are to be able to provide for themselves. The "other servants'" names are unrecorded and are unquantified.
- William Watts, the grandfather of Col. William Watts, was mentioned in IAS Book 2 in a complaint filed against his son, Edward Watts involving Edward's sister, Martha Watts.

- Anthony is mentioned in the will of Edward Watts, who is discussing the passing of property to his son, William. Edward Watts stated: "...also all of the slaves which may be on the land at that time except Robert, in whose place I give him Henry, the son of Anthony..."

- In the birth register, it is recorded that William Watts enslaved two unrecorded named boys who are listed above. Along with these boys is 3 enslaved boys; Corbin, Carter, and Alexander. However, it is not known if this William Watts was their enslaver or if their enslaver was Col. William Watts.
- In the IAS Book 4, the partition of the lands and other property of Edward Watts states that William Watts's share of the enslaved individuals was valued at $20,150. Various other personal property and land were included in his share while the rest was split between William and four of his sisters.
- In SoE Book 1, D. S. Read was charged with two additional items one placed at a value of $285, which was collected by William Watts.

- In IAS book 4, it is stated that William Watts, One entry from the appraisement states, "By hires of 7 slaved on Richd. Defenses," with a value of $216.53. No other information is listed about the enslaved individuals other than that they were transported to Richmond.
- David and Wesley both labored for 60 days at a pay rate of $16.00 per month. Their enslaver, William Watts, received $64.00 for the work completed by them.
- In Common Law Book D was an application of William Watts and Edward Saunders, who were the committee serving for Martha Watts, to have two enslaved people, Hector and Isabel, be exempted from taxation due to age and infirmity.
