In Common Law Book 2 was an indictment against J. W. Minor "for housebreaking with the intent to steal and larceny." He pled not guilty but was found guilty, and he was sentenced to one year in the public jail.
James Taylor was the grandson of Thomas Fowler and was bequeathed George, Zache, Mett, and Moses. These enslaved individuals were divided between James and his brothers Shelton, Lewis, and Thomas Taylor.
James was listed alongside numerous free Black men who were requisitioned for labor by Major General Breckinridge. In Common Law Book E, the Overseer of the Poor was authorized to bind him out.
