In the will of Jesse Wilson, it is recorded that Robert Right was a free boy raised by Wilson. Wilson wanted to leave some sort of real estate to Right, but he said in his will that if it was not legal for freed men to hold real estate then he wanted to appoint a trustee for Robert so he could keep the real estate that Wilson left for him. He was bequeathed to Sousan Wilson, Jesse's wife.
Robert was listed in the register as being 6 feet 2.5 inches tall, having a "bright copper complexion," and as having a scar on his left arm near the elbow. He previously registered in Charlotte County on April 5, 1841.
In the record, it is stated that "Sarah a woman" was "hired out" to Robert Burk for $11 from a list of enslaved individuals associated with Thomas Fowler.
His six "servants" Abraham, Richard, Robert B., Eliza, Gebina N., and Sally be given their "freedom" and that whatever remained of his estate once his debts had been settled would go to the six of them.
